AN UNLIKELY battle between a spider and a snake unfolded in a Kalgoorlie shed on Sunday afternoon.


In the back shed of Jamii-Leigh Marwick’s home little did she know a Western Brown snake’s tail had become trapped in a redback spider’s web.

But as fate would have it nature would not take its course as Ms Marwick’s son had seen the snake and ran inside shouting and screaming.

Ms Marwick said most days she was bound to come across a redback spider, living in Kalgoorlie, but this was the first time she’d seen a snake at her home in the nine years she had lived there.

“My son came screaming inside shouting that there was a snake in the shed,” she said.
